One shipping method is by Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) vessels. Ro-Ro ships are specifically designed to carry wheeled cargo, and lowbed trailers can be driven onto the ship’s deck using ramps. This method is ideal for transporting lowbed trailers without disassembling them, allowing for easy loading and unloading. Ro-Ro shipping provides a cost-effective and efficient way to transport lowbed trailers, especially for shorter distances or where road accessibility is available near the ports.
Another shipping method is by utilizing the frame and container system. In this method, It is disassembled, and its components are securely loaded into containers before being shipped. The main frame and other detachable parts of the lowbed trailer are disassembled and packed into containers, which are then transported by ships. This method ensures the protection of the trailer components during transit and allows for the utilization of the vertical space within the containers. It is suitable for transportation over longer distances and provides flexibility in terms of scheduling and intermodal transportation.
Lowbed trailers can also be shipped by bulk vessels, mainly applicable for shipping larger quantities of lowbed trailers in bulk. Bulk shipping involves transporting cargo without individual packaging or containers. In this method, These trailers are transported as unpackaged units directly onto specialized bulk carrier ships. This method is commonly used for transporting large quantities of lowbed trailers to specific regions or markets and is cost-effective for mass transportation.
